Direct Numerical Comparison of Data Driving Strategies for Solar Flux Emergence in Magnetohydrodynamics: B-driving vs E-driving
The study compared two methods for simulating solar magnetic field evolution using observational data: B-driving and E-driving. E-driving, which uses the electric field to directly control magnetic updates, provided better overall reproduction of a reference simulation's results across various metrics like energy and morphology. This suggests that driving simulations with the electric field is a more accurate way to model solar flux emergence than using only surface magnetic field data.
