Probing freeze-in dark matter using Bose-Einstein condensate in neutron star

The study investigates how dark matter (DM) forms a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) at the center of neutron stars, significantly increasing its density and annihilation rate. This enhancement makes the neutron star surface hotter, potentially bringing it within the detection range of telescopes like JWST. The findings suggest that DM models with very small annihilation cross-sections can be probed under these conditions.
