Pressure-induced Lifshitz and quantum phase transitions in electron-doped cuprate superconductor

Applying pressure to Pr0.87LaCe0.13CuO4±δ induces a Lifshitz transition at about 10 GPa, causing a Fermi surface reconstruction and weakening superconductivity. This study shows that the change is electronic, not structural, and provides evidence linking Fermi surface topology to superconductivity in electron-doped cuprates.
