A Sample of Thick-Disk Stars Hosting Hot Jupiters

Researchers analyzed 268 host stars of hot Jupiters to determine their chemical makeup ([$\alpha$/Fe] and [Fe/H]) and classify them into thin disk, thick disk, or ambiguous populations. The study found differences in planet masses between these groups and suggested that giant planet formation might have been less efficient in the high-alpha disk.
