Magnetically ordered yet topologically robust phases emerging in concurrent Kitaev spin liquids
The study examined a spin-orbital generalization of the Kitaev model, specifically adding Heisenberg and Kitaev terms to the Yao-Lee model. The findings show that magnetic order can appear in one sector while another remains a liquid, leading to coexisting phases. Depending on the dominant interaction, either both sectors are liquid or magnetic order emerges in one sector, revealing a rich coexistence of topological and ordered states.
