Electrical magnon spectroscopy with foundry-fabricated nanoscale magnetic tunnel junctions

Researchers electrically detected spin waves (magnons) using nanoscale magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) fabricated on a CMOS line. By engineering nonlinear interactions, they successfully transduced magnon excitations into measurable electrical signals, achieving spectral line widths as narrow as 188 kHz. This work proves MRAM technology can be used for scalable spintronic applications.
