Cooperative control of dissipative qubits: steering along the fastest dissipative contraction
The paper shows how to bypass slow relaxation limits in dissipative quantum systems by using dissipation itself as a control tool. By steering the qubit's state along the direction where it relaxes fastest, coherent pulses can achieve state transfer much quicker than passive methods. This 'bang-drift-bang' strategy allows for speedups over several relaxation times.
