'Your AI Text is not Mine': Redefining and Evaluating AI-generated Text Detection under Realistic Assumptions
This research systematically defines and formalizes different ways to categorize AI-generated text, moving beyond existing detection methods that use unrealistic assumptions. The study introduces AITDNA, a novel dataset of human-AI co-creation texts. By testing various notions against this realistic data, the paper shows that current detection datasets are flawed and highlights the need for detectors aligned with real-world human interaction patterns.
