Thermodynamics Beyond Equilibrium in Coherent Quantum Systems
This work develops a new framework for nonequilibrium quantum thermodynamics by combining quantum resource theory of coherence with standard thermodynamic laws. The key finding is an entropy balance relation that separates heat exchange entropy flux from entropy production caused by losing quantum coherence. This clarifies how irreversibility works in quantum systems and shows how equilibrium emerges dynamically.
