Benchmarking Efficient & Effective Camera Pose Estimation Strategies for Novel View Synthesis
The paper benchmarks different strategies for estimating camera poses needed for novel view synthesis, focusing on balancing speed and accuracy. It found that using fewer features significantly speeds up classical SfM methods while maintaining good pose accuracy. Furthermore, combining feed-forward networks with classical refinement yields the best balance between efficiency and effectiveness.
