Robustness of Neural Networks for CMB Polarization Foreground Removal
The study tested how well Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for removing Galactic foregrounds generalize when trained on different models of those foregrounds. By training CNNs on complex models, they performed better when tested on unseen models. This shows that the complexity of the model used during training directly impacts the accuracy and reliability of ML methods for CMB polarization data.
