An empirical derivation of the average dust attenuation law at 2<z<7
This study derived the first empirical average dust attenuation law for massive star-forming galaxies at redshifts between 2 and 7 using JWST spectroscopy. By combining NIRSpec data with photometry, researchers found a curve normalized to R_V ~3.98, which matches local starburst relations in slope and normalization. The results suggest dust attenuation mechanisms were already established early in cosmic time.
