Array Rotation in Near-Field ISAC: Communication, Detection, and Estimation Under Low-Complexity Transmit Architectures
This study analyzes how rotating an antenna array affects communication and sensing performance in near-field Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) systems. It compares single-stream and dual-waveform transmission methods, deriving exact performance bounds and finding optimal rotation angles for communication, detection, or estimation goals. The findings show that the choice of architecture dictates whether tasks can be aligned or if a trade-off must be accepted.
