Core physical principles of allostery

This work develops a reduced theoretical model for allostery, classifying its diverse mechanisms into two fundamental physical principles. These principles are either coupling distant sites through soft normal modes within a single energy state or involving multiple states with different ligand affinities. The model helps distinguish these mechanisms using specific collective variables to guide experimental interpretation.
