Seismic background mitigation with the Lunar Gravitational-wave Antenna

Lunar gravitational-wave detectors face sensitivity limits from seismic background noise. The Lunar Gravitational-wave Antenna (LGWA) is proposed as an accelerometer array to distinguish gravitational waves from this seismic noise. Analysis shows that optimal placement of two stations can improve the signal-to-noise ratio by a factor of about 2.3 at low frequencies, depending on the station distance relative to seismic correlation length.
