Morphological Study of Granular-Granular Impact Craters through Time-of-Flight Cameras: from Concept to Automation in Python

The study uses a Time-of-Flight camera (KinectOne) to measure depth data from laboratory impact craters made by granular projectiles. The authors compare this ToF method against traditional profilometry and release an open-source Python library called 'craterslab' to automate the measurement and analysis of crater features. This approach yields highly accurate 3D reconstructions while significantly reducing manual data processing time.
