Heat engines with single-shot deterministic work extraction
The paper introduces heat engines operating in a single-shot regime that can extract a finite amount of deterministic work. While this extraction is inherently less efficient than Carnot's, efficiency can be improved by allowing fluctuations in the extracted work or by using systems composed of many particles with specific correlations. In the large particle limit, Carnot efficiency can be approached.
