Engineering superconductivity on the surface of Weyl semimetals

The research investigates engineering high-temperature superconductivity on Weyl semimetal surfaces by modifying their electronic structure. By depositing a suitable layer, researchers can induce surface van Hove singularities, which significantly enhance the critical temperature. This demonstrates that topological protection in Weyl semimetals can be used to control surface states and open new routes to engineer two-dimensional superconductivity.
