Euclid Quick Data Release (Q1). The first Euclid view of Planck galaxy protocluster candidates at cosmic noon

Researchers used Euclid's photometric data and Spitzer photometry to find 20 galaxy protoclusters corresponding to eight Planck candidates at cosmic noon. These structures reside in dark matter halos suggesting a transition between cold flows and hot material accretion. The findings indicate these are maturing, not yet virialized, with star formation typical of active but non-starbursting galaxies.
