Prevalence of radio Active Galactic Nuclei in galaxy groups since z=3.5 in the COSMOS-Web field
The study investigated how large-scale environments, specifically galaxy groups versus the field, trigger radio AGN activity between z=3.5 and z=3.5. Findings show that radio AGN are significantly more prevalent in galaxy groups, with space density enhanced by a factor of 3 to 30 compared to the field at fixed stellar mass and luminosity. This enhancement persists out to high redshifts, suggesting dense environments play a crucial role in triggering radio AGN activity.
