Tensor network study of deconfined quantum criticality in a one-dimensional spin-phonon model
Researchers used tensor network simulations to study deconfined quantum criticality (DQC) in a one-dimensional spin-phonon model. They found that DQC is stable above a critical phonon frequency but becomes strongly first-order below it. This transition is caused by spin-phonon coupling reducing the system's Luttinger parameter, leading to lattice instability.
