Constraining Dark Acoustic Oscillations with the High-Redshift UV Luminosity Function

The study used high-redshift measurements of galactic UV luminosity functions to test models involving dark acoustic oscillations (DAOs) in dark matter. By creating a phenomenological model for these oscillations, researchers constrained the parameters of the DAO feature. The results show that either the oscillation wave number ($k_{peak}$) must be large ($k \gtrsim 50 \ h/Mpc$), or the fraction of dark matter undergoing DAOs must be very small (less than 0.07).
