Behind-the-Meter Photovoltaic Visibility from Net Smart Meters: Deployment Regimes and Operational Insights
Deep learning models attempt to estimate behind-the-meter solar power generation from limited net smart meter data. The study found that the model's usefulness heavily depends on whether it targets known customers, new customers, future time periods, or new regions. Deployment settings significantly impact estimation error more than the choice of deep learning model itself.
