Combining Error Verification and Privacy Amplification in Quantum Key Distribution
The paper investigates combining error verification and privacy amplification steps in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) into a single hashing procedure. This approach simplifies classical postprocessing by comparing a subset of hash outputs for error checking and discarding them, retaining the rest as the key. The study proves this combined protocol maintains the secure key rate with only minor changes to the security parameter under specific hashing conditions.
