Synthetic Modelling of Polarized Dust Emission in Intermediate-Mass YSOs: II: Effects of Radiative Torque Disruption on Dust Grains in Protostellar Jets/Outflows

The study modeled how Radiative Torque Disruption (RATD) affects dust grains in protostellar outflows by simulating MHD jets. Findings show RATD destroys low-strength aggregate grains ($S_{ ext{max}} ext{ up to } 10^5 ext{ erg cm}^{-3}$), allowing small sub-micron grains to dominate the outflow and preventing large grain migration. This process reduces observed dust polarization.
