KnowEEG: Explainable Knowledge Driven EEG Classification
KnowEEG introduces a feature-based pipeline for EEG classification that combines per-electrode signal statistics with cross-brain connectivity metrics. This method outperforms deep learning models across five tasks, including emotion detection and eyes open/closed detection, without needing GPUs. It provides inherent explainability by ranking feature importance, revealing discriminative biomarkers consistent with neuroscience literature.
