Less Back-and-Forth: A Comparative Study of Structured Prompting
The study compared three prompting methods—raw, checklist-improved, and clarifying-question prompts—across four tasks (summarization, planning, explanation, coding) using three LLMs. Checklist-improved prompts yielded the highest quality scores (7.50/8), significantly outperforming raw prompts (5.67/8). This suggests structured checklists improve LLM output quality while reducing user effort.
