Addressing Overcommitment in the Reasoning of Gendered Economic Memes under Multimodal Ambiguity
CGER-Net is a new multimodal framework designed to reduce unjustified gender attribution in image-text memes about economic dependence. It explicitly measures how much evidence is present for a decision, using a 'context sufficiency score' to determine when to infer and when to abstain. This approach leads to fewer stereotypes and more honest reasoning when information is unclear.
