Electrical Power Grid Reliability Assessment Exposed to Straight Line Winds
This research developed a probabilistic framework to assess how straight line winds affect electrical transmission lines. By modeling wind exposure and component failure probabilities, the study quantified risks like tower failures and line outages across an IEEE 118 bus system. The findings highlight spatially nonuniform risk, pinpointing vulnerable network corridors for better planning.
