Realization of a Rydberg-dressed extended Bose Hubbard model

Researchers realized a one-dimensional extended Bose-Hubbard model using 87Rb atoms and Rydberg dressing to study correlated out-of-equilibrium dynamics. They observed novel phenomena like repulsively bound pairs, density ordering near equilibrium, and the emergence of 'hard rods' under strong interactions. This work advances understanding of strongly interacting quantum gases.
