Coherence and pairing enhancement in a trilayer cuprate with layer-selective charge order
The study investigates how two different hole concentrations in adjacent planes of a trilayer cuprate optimize both superconducting pairing and phase coherence, explaining its record critical temperature. It finds that an inner plane with underdoped characteristics coexists with an outer plane exhibiting overdoped behavior, and the proximity between these layers enhances quasiparticle coherence.
